February — Saint of the Day
Parroquia de San Francisco de Asís
Tepatitlán de Morelos, Jalisco
Blessed Anacleto González Flores (feast April 1); St. José Sánchez del Río "Joselito" (feast February 10, Ash Wednesday).
Blessed Anacleto González Flores was born in Tepatitlán in 1888 — lawyer and lay leader. Tortured and shot on April 1, 1927, his last words were "I die, but God does not die. ¡Viva Cristo Rey!" During the war, federal troops fired on Cristeros from this church's twin towers; the bullet marks remain.
